It was a warm summer night as the wind played tunes with the
evening-dampened leaves on the carpeted fields of evergreens
that lustered the country scented hillsides and valleys.
Birds lulled softly their evening chant as the sunset on the horizon
lifted the sky into a blaze of fire-lit glory.
As I drifted on exhilarated, ecstatically alive in this haven of sheer beauty
that stretched outwards to every edge of the earth,
a clearing appeared ahead, alive with the fresh smell of dewy toad stalls,
glistening, gazing proudly upwards towards the divine universe tantalizing,
twinkling its fairy lights.
My senses became aware of trickling water dancing daintily from the hillsides,
tumbling downwards from rock to rock to its destination below:
a silken stream swiftly straggling into the darkening density that surrounded me.
Here I settled beneath the stars.
I lay intoxicated by nature's own drug as I slip silently away inside myself,
into the depth of my own entirety, where my own imagination may arise and play as it pleases.
Only the sound of the nocturnal life to enhance my senses.
The splendor of God's own creation, his glory all put there for me,
as a gift from The Lord's own sweet hand.
What was given to us as a gift of glory from God,
men ignorantly destroy the beauty of its wonder by the greed of many
who desire to draw the riches from our exquisite earth,
while they try to profess it’s for the use of man's own good.
I fear by the time man finally realizes what’s happening, it is going to be too late.
If God forgives them that do these things, then we really should fall to our knees
and praise The Lord for the mercy he has on us!
