Wander
drifting everyday,
I’ve lost my home
Where do I stay?
Its dark,
I seek the glow of radiant lamps,
Following steps of other lonely tramps,
I drift- I search, the streets I roam,
I seek a bedsit to make my own,
o'hh, no money I'm all alone,
I search for shelter,
I'm in distress,
I’ve lost my dignity and finesse,
I seek the seafront for some light,
Amusement parks, fluorescents bright,
People pour money in the gambling slots,
Addicts take their daily shots,
Streets meander with lonely drunks,
Screaming sirens wail through the gloom,
Some thief has run and done a bunk,
I'm in a town so far away,
Through open curtains I see a homely room,
mellow warmth I no longer know,
If only I too had someplace to go,
The weathers bitter
If only I too had someplace to go,
The weathers bitter
I’ve holes in my shoes,
alone and afraid-no money to use.
I'm hungry and cold,
alone and afraid-no money to use.
I'm hungry and cold,
I'm bitterly wet through,
feeling so empty
as onwards I stray,
someone please help me,
as onwards I stray,
someone please help me,
please give me the time of day,
Just help me get safety,
Just help me get safety,
or a warm bed to lay,
If only till morning
Then I'll be on my way,
It’s not quite so bad
If only till morning
Then I'll be on my way,
It’s not quite so bad
in the cold light of day,
maybe toss me a blanket
And a small bite to eat,
winters bitter frosts falling,
It will help me stay on my feet.
maybe toss me a blanket
And a small bite to eat,
winters bitter frosts falling,
It will help me stay on my feet.
Empty and lonely,
I didn't expect this,
I thought life on the street,
was all fun and bliss.
